Brief Description: Final Drill Holes & Debur J-Stiffeners
Deburred the holes on the J-stiffeners I did yesterday and set them aside for later. I flipped the spar so the lower flange was facing me and set up the J-stiffeners on the lower flange. This step warns that some of the holes on the lower flange mustn't be used for match drilling. These are the holes for the attach panel nutplates, so I masked them off to prevent causing a $2400 mistake.
After match drilling, the lower stiffener rolled 180 degrees and moved to the upper flange to finish match drilling the remaining holes.
Then I final drilled all of the remaining #40 holes on the forward portion of the upper and lower flanges. The instructions call for final drilling the nutplate attachment holes as well, but they were already final sized.
Tomorrow I'll start on all the countersinking. In preparation I'll review the plans to make sure which ones are flush, which ones are 0.007 inch under flush and which ones get set by diameter only.
