I was able to cancel my order of the new LHS elevator skins. This is one time where the backlog worked in my favor. I also found out that the wing backlog is actually nine months, not the eight months lead time stated on the Van's website. Apparently, eight months is how long it will take to produce the parts, but there is an additional month backlog to crate the kit. I'm going to order the wing kit very soon and it should arrive near the end of 1Q next year.
Since I'm going to use the current skins, I dimpled them today. I'll prime the last batch of elevator parts tomorrow and then expect to start riveting things together on Sunday.

The dimples look very well formed. No distortion on the flush side either.
