Brief Description:  Countersink Front and Rear Spar Flanges

I'm doing things a little out of order because I'm priming. The plans call for riveting the front and rear spar assembiles early on, but I want to get all the parts ready for priming in one batch first. That means doing all the drilling and countersinking of all parts first. I don't do any dimpling until after I prime.

Today was spent countersinking all of the holes along the front and rear spar caps. Some of the holes in the center of the spar don't have any skin over them, so they are countersunk so that the rivet is flush with the cap. Where there is a skin, the countersinks are 0.007 in. deeper to accomodate the dimple in the skin.

Lots of holes to countersink. There are a couple of less-than-perfect countersinks though.
