Brief Description: Dimple Ribs, Assemble Tank Attach Z Brackets
The LHS ribs were wiped down with acetone then the flanges were scuffed. Another cleaning to remove the ScotchBright residue then all of the ribs were dimpled. I noticed that I had missed fluting a couple of ribs, so I completed that too.
The tank attach Z-brackets were separated and sanded down to removed the shear and cut marks, then deburred on the ScotchBright wheel.
I started to countersink the brackets, but of course I screwed it up. I thought the countersink was adjusted for flush and did the first hole, but it was way too deep. I readjusted the cage properly and finished the rest of the countersinks. I cut one extra stiffener off the stock for the RHS and ordered a new part from Vans. At least t his way I can finish out the LH tank with a full set of parts.
All ribs have now been deburred, cleaned, straightened, scuffed and ready for installation
Angel rejected the part with the deep countersink and made me buy new stock. Tough inspector!
