Brief Description:  Rudder trim and Avoinics mounts

The last two days have been very frustrating and satisfying all at the same time.

I spent Saturday trying to work out and create some mounts for the Garmin GTN650 and the PAR100EX.

I originally was going to creat the mounts that connected to the lower cross bar and the screw mounts for the panel. However, when trying to fit the panel for some testing it was obvious that this was a bad idea as the pitot and static lines would cause mounting problems.

So I decided to bond the mounts to the panel itself. this looks like it will work well.

I also had a few associates drop around for a squiz. One of these members was Peter Austin, an SAAA memeber who was looking over my plane for a SAAA TC submission. I need 3 of these during the construction of the aircraft to help with insurance, but more imprtantly, it helps having more heads look at your build.

Sunday Dad and I worked on mounting the rudder trim control. This actually took quite a bit of time to decide on the location, mounting approach and the bulkhead through holes. I finally got it mounted and used a double flush rivet technique to be able to mount the trim unit.

Pretty happy with the outcome. When we come to final panel mount we may need to open the holes a fraction, however, they look quite good at the moment.
