Brief Description:  Riveting and sealing the elevators

It has been a quite productive weekend. The tools I was waiting for from OS have finally arrived and although small, were required for some finicky jobs.

One was a narrow diameter 3/32" die for dimpling the nut plates. The other main ones were a longeron yoke and quick change pins for the squeezer.

It was a really messy job to complete the trailing edge of the elevators. Tank sealant is such a mucky component, gets onto everything and fast. Took ages to get all of the items completed.

I designed a new tool which I found 'incredible' for applying the tank sealant to the trailing edges and foam wedges.

NEW TOOL: Use some medium gauge fencing wire and bend into a loop. with some length allowing you to easily stir the tank sealant. Use the loop end to apply the tank sealant to the edges. If layed so the loop lays flat on the surface it can go around the dimples both sides easily.

I also used some alumimium angle to set the trailing edge again as I did with the rudder. It worked very well and helped square the elevator as it at first glance had a slight twist (i.e. ~1 - 2 mm over the length).
