Ovr the course of the weekend Dad, Gess and I built and hung a gantry that runs the full length of the garage. Bracketed at 700mm, the gantry is in a 3 and 1 configuration. 3 rollers are connected to a piece of square steel box at 800mm apart, and the other roller is by itself.
The channel and rollers are for heavy industrial doors and are designed to lift up to 450kg per 2 rollers. Therefore estimate across the 3 it would be in excess of 600kg lifting capacity.
Attached to the gantry is 2 rope 7:1 pulleys. Thes will come in very handy in the years to come, especially in the next few weeks.
