Brief Description:  Main Spar - Fuel Tank Plate nuts Countersinking

L & R Main Wing Spars
Completed:
- Machine countersink the platenut attach holes in the W-706A spar flange. Use a microstop countersink with a #30 pilot to countersink the screw holes in the spar to the proper depth for the #8 screw. The pilot will center in the countersunk platenut well enough to keep the hole round and concentric.

Had one error on the top of the right wing main spar. The platenut wasn't secured and the countersink moved and oblonged the hole (Image #3). Will talk to Van's to figure out what to do. Thinking that a doubler in that area will be needed.

9/4/20 Update: Spoke with Vans technical support.
Engineering at Van's suggest:
1. Removing nutplate.
2. Rivet on .063 doubler (blue outline Image #3) to inside of flange.
3. Reattach nutplate.
4. Remember to use longer rivets in the two wing skin attach holes falling on this new doubler.
