Brief Description:  Spar fitting and landing light cutout

Brought my friend with me to help out today. He took over the spar fitting assembly. Started by clamping it in place with the bracket mounted and the L angle clecoed on. Used a long drill bit to drill out the first two holes into the L angle and then clecoed, removed and drilled out the rest on the bench. Deburred, applied Zn-Cr primer and riveted the doubler to the L angle. Meanwhile, I took on the daunting task of cutting out the hole for the landing light. I measured out all the corners, drew the lines and used blue tape to mark out the hole. I drilled each corner out to the biggest drill bit size I had, then started to rough cut (well inside from the edge) with sheet metal snips. Created quite a rough edge, but once the space was opened up I figured out that I could make a nice clean edge with the proper sided snips. So I finished up very slowly along the edges with those and smoothed it out with a file. Turned out pretty well if I do say so myself.
