I attempted to put the springs onto the muffler after the pipes were attached to the engine but I found it easier to remove the pipes from the engine and place them one by one onto the muffler and then attach the springs. the springs are easy to attach if you place them into position and then pull the pipe into its proper position. After all the pipes are attached to the muffler then attach the entire unit to the engine.
