Today I received the practice project from Vans, a neat little mock up of a control surface that will allow me to practice my techniques and get used to the tooling again. It came with a large amount of documentation, doesn’t seem to be in order, but will start reading up on the processes required.
I completed the inventory of the the kit, and all seems to be in order.
Next step will be to get into the books, read over build techniques and get into contact with the Technical Councillor up north. I’m happy with most of the prep work, I think the riveting techniques and creating a ‘neat’ set rivet will be my biggest problem.
