Been a while since the last update, I have been working on the practice project reasonably constantly only for short periods of time.
Had the chance to meet my technical councillor and have a good chat about the build process, he has heaps of experience flying and building vans aircraft, so should be a great help on the my build process. He had a look over the pracctice project, while not perfect he said I was on track, so hopefully I only get better from here.
In Summary:
Made a special Dimple tool for the Ribs on the Trailing end Made a special countersink strip of steel for the trailing edge angle, allows for easy countersinking. Dimpled the ribs, and deburred Countersunk trailing edge wedge, Wasn’t Pleasant due to materials thickness. Primed trailing edge wedge and ribs. Riveted the reinforce plates to the spar (Squeezer) Riveted the skins to the spars, gun and bucking bar (only had to remove) Riveted majority of skins to ribs
I should finish the project this weekend, and I am just coming up with some clever methods to rivet the trailing rivets on the ribs (back riveting) as well as getting ready for the trailing edge back riveting.
