I used 1" wide copper tape from 3M with conductive adhesive on the back. First I covered the "teardrop" shape with tape, then I ran 22" long radials with a slight overlap out from there. I then cut a teardrop shaped plate from some copper flashing. I'll use some SMT flux and wick some solder in around the edge. Redrill the screws and antenna lead holes and attach nutplates to the back of the copper plate. I'll then drill and countersink a screw from the bottom and place a nut and star washer on the inside. This will then be run back to the common ground.
