Brief Description: Test Fit Avionics and Switches 1
Good thing the wife was away. It was like Christmas. Boxes everywhere, stuff all over the place. I was happy. The avionics trays were going to be a tight fit. I filed a couple sides by about 1/32 or so. They finally slid in place. I can only imagine how slow I will take it with the aluminum panel when I do this again. This practice was well worth it. Dog didn't mind I used one of his toys to prop up the bottom temporarily. Very pleased so far. I like how the trays are arranged. I will use two of the four panel ribs I have as tray mounting braces and mount the other two panel ribs, one each outboard of each skyview. I can use those outer ribs for skyview backup batteries or whatever else I have need for additional mounting space.
Thats about $20+G of stuff
Like how the GTN750 rack stays low on the panel. Screen rides high but isn't deep.
Thinking a 6 inch panel rib on each side of the rack stack for mounting and stability. We'll see.
