Brief Description:  Mag Start Switch 2

My buddy who is an electrical guru came over and after some testing he said everything appears to be normal. Huh? I had removed all four leads from the two mags and checked the connection from the P lead stud to the ground screw of both mags and both mags showed closed (grounded together, not hot...) Whazzz up? Sam (my buddy) said the only time the P lead stud and the ground screw would be open (not connected, not grounded to each other) was that moment when the electrical discharge happened. It only happens because the mag makes that internal connection open up to create the spark!! Duh. So don't go thinking you can put an ohmmeter on the wiring after you connect the key switch and see the same results you saw when you checked the naked switch. If the unwired starter switch performs correctly, you can rely on it to do it's job... I can go with that...
Finished the day making the engine ground cable and used a 5/16 x 1 1/4 fine thread bolt, nut, star washers, etc. Tight quarters there, so I used angle drill with threaded reamer to reach in there to get the job done. Right tools make all the difference.
