Brief Description: Master and Starter Relays Installation
Made and painted doubler plate that gets riveted to inside of firewall to help strengthen the area where 4 AN 4 bolts hold the two relays to the firewall. Simple concept, but lots of interaction between the two relays before you drill holes through the firewall. Finally got it figured out and attached the doubler. Using a couple existing firewall rivet holes (removed offending rivets) changed the exact layout of the firewall holes vs the dimensions on the plans. I've learned not to use plan dimensions before trial fitting stuff because no two airplanes are constructed exactly the same ( except maybe the modern pre punched everything models). Measured center to center after mounting these to determine where to drill 5/16 holes in the .125 copper bar I had purchased for this purpose. Plan said cut it 2.75 long. Mine was 3.15 long. See what I mean? Attached Diodes in proper locations and finished mounting these babies.
Still need to shrink tube most of the copper bar. Just fitting right now.
