Brief Description:  Drill Out 192 rivets for some practice.

So what do you do when you measured twice and assembled everything based on reading the measurement wrong? You get to order new parts and do it over correctly. I took a day and practiced drilling out 192 rivets from the roll bar so I can have some spare aluminum for other things later. As a side bar, I rated 11 holes too large to reuse -4 rivets. Thats about 6% error rate. Just one of those factoids. So what happened was the actual accurate width of the cabin at the roll bar location is between 42 9/16 and 42 5/8. I looked at it originally and made myself believe I saw 42 7/16. Subtract 3/8 for the width of the two pieces of angle and that left 42 1/16. I made the roll bar which actually lost 1/16 in assembly so it equalled 42 even. Unfortunately for me, that was 1/4 inch too narrow. And I decided that was too much gap for spacer straps to be riveted to the outside curve of each side of the roll bar. The inside edge of the roll bar would interfere with the seat back hardware and it would not have matched up to the tip up canopy well. So,,,, new stuff arrived and I am remakiing the roll bar. Took a picture of the measurement and I can confidently say it is 42 5/8. So thiis new roll bar will be 42 1/4 ( subtract 3/8 for the two 3/16 outer angles that mount to the outside of the roll bar.

Lets measure this thing again correctly this time.

The fuselage skin is not riveted so it will squeeze up slightly to 42 5/8.
