Brief Description: Prepared Cowl for Hinge wire end covers
The covers come with L and R blanks which are slightly oversized. Positioning, tracing and cutting the openings leaves slightly larger opening than the final engraved covers (RV6-A). This allows room for paint and nice fit.
After both sides are rough cut, the plans call for applying several layers of cloth on the inside which bridges the cutout. Then you drill through the two screw holes in the blank to locate nutplates to be riveted inside. Then, you carefully cut the fiberglass in half along the matching upper/lower cowl lines to allow the cowls to be separated.
