Brief Description:  Bleed Brake Lines

Using Mobil1 synthetic ATF fluid in brakelines. I made a pressure vessel from PVC pipe and loaded it to about 30lbs psi to push fluid up the brake lines from the wheels. Because of the tiny drain hole in the brake bleeder fitting on the wheel, it flows slowly up (about 1 inch per second) so, give it some time to push through. I quickly discovered pockets of air in the lines that would not move. A little research showed that the brake cylinders on the rudder pedals need to be unbolted so you can swing them as horizontal as possible to help move the bubbles along. That worked for most, but not all the air bubbles. I decided to make it a two person job with one person operating a hand vacuum pump attached to the master fluid reservoir fill opening with a temporary fitting. While I would pressurize the line and feed fluid in from the wheel, the other person hand operated the vacuum pump. Those bubbles couldn't wait to exit through the reservoir. Repeated on the 2nd wheel and got that job done.
