Manual Reference:  Bolt Main Spar
Brief Description:  Begin inserting 40 bolts thru left main spar

The day has arrived to permanently bolt the left wing in place. Its a big day. I had no available help so it was accomplished by myself using some rolled towel to raise outer wing while inserting. Eventually a single shop bolt was able to be inserted plus some homemade drift pins and from then on, it was easy to start the bolts. I began at the outer edge working inward, skipping a couple very troublesome access holes in the landing gear weldment until later. The learning lesson, especially with the close tolerance NAS bolts was that you needed a washer under the bolt head and up to two washers after the bolt was inserted and tapped into place. It was not fun tapping out a close tolerance bolt to add a washer under the head. You probably won't make that mistake too many times. Got it done and began to insert lower bolts as well.
One rib on each side did not have the 3/16 hole continued through it from the main spar hole. Don't know how that happened, but not to worry. I extended the hole so it penetrated the F604 and permitted me to insert the AN3 bolts there. Be prepared for these type events. They just happen.
