Brief Description:  Forward Fuselage Access Panels5

Removed old vinyl protectant, scotch brited the work and installed the covers. I'm not sure how much gap I should leave between the covers and the top skin edges for painting. I'll research that and make the call later. Its noteworthy that after mounting the canopy, siderails, canopy guide blocks on the roll bar, latching mechanism, weather stripping, hydraulic canopy dampeners, etc., the perfect 1/32 clearance between the canopy frame and the forward topskin is not so perfect now. It closed up on the pilot's side. The perfectly aligned surfaces of the canopy frame and the forward top skin now show a new slight mismatch on the pilot side curve where the canopy sits ever so slightly higher than the top skin. My point is this. Don't be surprised when the fit of things change slightly while building. Just be prepared to adjust, fix, and move ahead. It happens. I can say this whole canopy/roll bar/rear window/forward top skin was the most difficult of all the project work I have done so far.

If I rivet it I'll use these access holes for final work inside.

It turned out nice. Still need to visit underside to note any rib flange/backing plate interference.
