It was clear to me that I should create access panels for my forward top fuselage skin so I could reach all those things forward of the sub panel which would otherwise force me to slide in on my back and work half blind from underneath the forward area of the upper fuselage. I marked out two panel dimensions on the fuselage skin underside and drilled out 1 1/2 inch holes for the corner curvature. Then did the same for the backing plate. The backing plate underlaps the fuselage skin by 1/2 inch. Being 1 inch wide on all sides, it will stick into the skin opening by another 1/2 inch. That is where K1100-08 dimpled nutplates will attach underneath to receive the flush cover screws when installed. I used a dremel with right angle attachment to cut between all the holes and finish sanded all the lines. I used a straight edge clamped along each cut line for those dremel cuts.
Made the backing plates first. Traced them onto skin. Reduced skin cutout by 1/2 inch all sides.
Drilled skin holes to line up with the 1/2 inch undersize line then Dremel cut between them.
