I have been using the VPX EFIS display to turn different things on and off while the switches were being wired. This time, using panel switches, Master ON and all wires that were programmed for always on came alive along with the pilot EFIS. Avionics ON and all the rest of panel came alive. Love it. When I turned on any switch that I programmed VPX to detect a fault on, the VPX promptly displayed the fault on my pilot Skyview. For instance, I don't have Landing Light connected yet in wing. Switch it on and it faults because I check for current draw which doesn't exist yet. In real life, if Landing Light died and did not draw current, VPX to display fault.
One thing I need to explore is the autopilot off/on switch. With the autopilot off, Skyview shows red Xs in top left to indicate roll and pitch servos are offline. Not sure thats what I want to see if I chose to fly manually and didn't power on the autopilot roll and pitch servos.
As for coloring the panel, I have a faux carbon fiber wrap that I will apply to see if I like that look. I think I will. Also, switch toggles will have three colored covers. Looks like next up is removing panel for covering.
