I find myself avoiding continuous work when its in an area I am uncomfortable with. This fiberglass stuff is such an area. A special hidden hinge is easy in concept, and hard for me to make right, expecially when the plan is in my head. But, eventually, I got the bends and curves in the correct positions and drilled it and a hinge #40 for starters. The Vans fiberglassing in this area leaves much to be desired. So, its going to require expoxy to fix. Here we go. I will be trying for nice clean flush line between oil door and all sides of the cowling. Haven't decided on the latching mechanism yet.
Hidden hinge made from 032 sheet and bent to proper dimensions. Clecoed to std hinge.
