Brief Description:  Primed Wing Skins and parts

So, priming is no different than anything else you try for the first time.... Like the saying goes, you get better with experience. Everything was a learning experience. The HVLP gun adjustments for air pressure, paint flow, pattern all had to be learned. Mixing two part paint started as a sloppy mess and became better the 2nd and 3rd load. I mixed in one container and poured into the gun receiver. How much to mix? For production work, fill it up 1/2 of each part for a full hopper load.
What about the occasional drips? Where did they come from? Loose nozzle fitting. Keep things tight and sealed. Tested flows and pressure on some plywood. Go get some cardboard to practice on. The trickiest part of the painting for me was finding the right flow and pattern. Too much flow and it throws it out like a fire hose. Too little and you find yourself going over and over same spot. I need a better pressure valve at the gun connection to keep 30-35 lbs. Will fix that tomorrow. I set up shop in the driveway outside the main garage door. Out in the open sitting on my chickenwire contraption table with a blue tarp underneath. The wind was a little strong and the overspray was blowing around a bit. Thankfully it seemed to dissipate quickly. At any rate it was about the same color as my garage door, so no problem:):):) However, I had to move my wife's blue BMW..
