Brief Description:  Welded and primed Smithy stand

Gas welded the mitered corners for the Smithy stand (top and bottom shelf) Took the rest to the steel to my cousins shop because he has an arc welder (and is a better welder than I am) The Smithy will weigh about 500 lbs., so this stand needs to be strong !

I also hand bent a chip/coolant pan for the Smithy out of 24 Ga. steel sheet using a hammer and a piece of angle iron. One seam bend at 1/4" and one one bend at 1-1/2" for the wall (all four sides) I then gas welded the corners shut.

Once I got home from Jamie's shop, I cleaned up the welds with a flap wheel and wire brushed everything using the angle grinder. Everything was quickly rubbed down with some acetone and then primed.
