Brief Description:  Hinge placement

Well here is some work for me. The previous owner had cut the top hinge anchor points of the doors thinking that he could have them swing forward and not up. The big thing in all the instruction on the hinges is to have the center pins in alignment to stop binding and have the doors work correctly. The fuselage is curved a lot were he had marked the spot for the hinges and this would not work. I also wonted the doors to open up the way the kit is to be made.

Here are the 4 hinge anchor points made of TRIAX after putting the doors in place to get the radius correct and will be structurally re- resined backed into place with Kevlar on top. I order Kevlar to help reinforce the doors from Aircraft Spruce and will work on this next week. The doors will have to be put in place with hinges set up and aligned before the doors backing is glassed back in with bids and lay-ups to complete this job.

In the Saw mill I would cut and weld back into place with a torch and rod. This will take 3x as long to do. But it will be strong and correct.
