Brief Description:  Install micro switch for throttle (gear up warning

It’s amazing I got some time in on the plane today. Last 4 weeks have been busy with fire wood, yard work, Fire department spring training, and plumbing on a shower, just to name a few jobs out of the way. I even got the PA-28 140 up for a spin a few times.

I had ordered more micro switches from the Velocity factory, 4-40 bolts from Tower Hobby and other parts from Aircraft Spruce for the work in the next little few weeks.

I did some thinking as to how this switch was going to be mounted because the building manual has nothing on this part. There is an extension on the throttle arm and there was just enough room to make the switch work. I did some measuring and cutting of aluminum and tig welded up the bracket that will hold the switch. The mounting holes for the switch were drilled and the bottom one slotted for adjustment. I put into place and tack welded the bracket for welding to be done once removed. Welding was completed and the bracket was bolted back on. I also drilled the bracket bolts for safety wire and that was done. I attached the wires to the switch and then bolted the switch on with the Tower Hobby bolts.
Next will be the switch on the front gear doors.
