Brief Description:  Removed wing and started on wheel well.

I started my day @ 4:00 am watching the Olympics. Canada did well but Russia cleaned house and stacked up the metals.
I headed down into the shop after a nap and removed the wing bolts. I had to cut the wing free in a few spots from the lay-ups I did the day before. I can’t believe how strong the glass work is. I had to cut a total of ¾” in two spots to remove the wing. I pulled and tried to wiggle the wing free but had no choice but to cut it free.
I then wheeled it out of the way on my table saw cradle it made the job easy with one person. I lifted the Pilot leg up and marked for cutting bit by bit I got the results needed to mach the other side. Then I stared on the wheel well cutting small amounts off. I wrapped my metal ruler with 60 grit sand paper to round up the opening.
You can see my ¾” marking block for the lip needed in the wheel well. For the inside of the lip I used the sand paper on a bondo putty spreader which was able to bend nicely to the contour of the lip.
Next week I will glass all this in.
