Spent a week at Portland, OR, as an evaluator for a National Guard Bureau inspection of the 142 Fighter Wing. After the outbrief, I had a whole afternoon with nothing to do 25 miles from Aurora....so you know what I did...I beat feet as fast as I could to the center of my airplane universe!!
Got an outstanding tour of the place and a fantastic ride in the company RV-8A from Joe Blank. If they have room for a retired USAF officer in a few years, I might have to be talking my wife into moving to NE Oregon, it looked like a great place to start a second career!
