Brief Description:  Finishing rib prep

When I completed edge deburring, straightening, and flanging the last wing rib, I decided to stop there and and do the 14 fuel tank ribs later when I start the tanks. I'm so tired of ribs...I think I've made it harder on myself than it should be...

I then located and drilled all the holes for wiring conduit and pitot lines. In the process, I learned how much you can walk a hole with a "Unibit" step drill. I located all the holes and drilled #30 pilot very accurately. Instead of making a template to locate all the holes, I found that the gold clekos fit perfectly in the tooling holes. So once you had both a right flanged and left flanged rib with holes located, it was a piece of cake to transfer the hole to all the other ribs. It wasn't until after I had drilled all the 3/4" holes that I realized you can have quite a bit of walk when you drill by hand. This is definitely a step that calls for a drill press! So I went and asked the neigbor if I could use his drill press. Instead of just letting me use it, much to my suprise, he told me to take and keep it my garage. He said he hadn't used it in years, and that he knows where it is if he needs it again. Great guy!!

Here is what needs to be wired/plumbed in each wing. Left Wing: pitot line, AOA line, strobe light, nav light, landing light, pitot heat, Dynon remote compass, outside air temp probe,. Right Wing: strobe, nav light, taxi light, Archer wingtip NAV/Localizer/Glideslope antenna.

Next up - start putting together the right wing and drill ribs to the spar.
