Brief Description:  Riveting Horizontal Stab

Riveting skins on horizontal stab. I rearranged the tables and put them together to make a long enough table for the HS. Works well.

Things went well riveting on the left skin to the front spar and middle rib. Then when I started the right skin, things went south.

The first step is to rivet the middle nose rib to the top of the skin. 6 easy rivets to buck. I learned a lesson about the most forward rivet near the leading edge. The skin doesn't quite want to mesh with the rib at that point unless you have the other side along with the tip rib cleko'd to the skin. I thought I would just try to hold the skin while I bucked it....wrong. The gun and bucking bar both slipped on me and I ended up denting the skin!%@$#@%!^$.

So I had to drill out the rib, and repair the skin. A little work with the tinning hammer and the dent is gone...sort of...it's hard to see, but I'll always know it's there.

Once I had the middle nose rib riveted, I cleko'd the right skin onto the front spar.
