Brief Description: Riveted the Vertical Stab
|
|
FIRST MAJOR SUB-ASSEMBLY COMPLETED!!!!
Bathroom Boy (Furge) came over and helped me assemble the vertical stab. It sure is satisfying to look at something that actually resembles a part of an airplane. After all the prep, filing, fitting, drilling, deburring, dimpling, and primering - the actual assembly is fairly straightforward and easy.
Being that both of us did more riveting today than either of us had ever done, we took our time, used the rivet gauge on nearly every rivet, and did it right. Only had to drill out and redo 2 rivets, and left a couple of very thin smileys on the spar doubler. It was a great experience!!!
After setting all those -4 rivets with the hand squeezer, a pneumatic squeezer just rocketed to the top of my Christmas wish list.

Just add some wings, an engine, and a zillion other things and that table could fly!
