It's a poor man's brake for sure but dont regret taking the time to make it. I used 4 inch Angle some 1.5 by 1.5 inch tube for a handle welded together and bolted to a 2 by 8 microlam and then bolted to the heavy work bench. I have used it for things like folding materal for landing lights.
