Because of the previous issues I had with painting, I found a painting mentor. Robert is teaching me the ropes as we paint my plane. Best money I ever spent. With his help, the process is moving along and the quality is excellent.
Initially, my goal was that it look good from 10 feet. Perfect planes are heavy planes. Minimizing the weight gain is important. However, I've learned that is is possible to flatten surfaces with minimal filler. Paint is all about prep. This won't be a show plan, but it will have a VERY nice paint job from 5 inches!

This session we sanded, primed, sanded, sealed, and painted the blue (for the stripe) on the fuselage.
