Wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how the supplied NACA vents were going to fit. Turns out they have been upgraded since the manual was written. Nick to send new NACA vents.
If you're building a lightning and your NACA vents don't look like the one below, get the new ones. They allow you to cut out the entire recessed part and bond the vent to the inside. This should save a lot of body work later.
The third picture is the original opening. My first NACA vents looked like the back half of the new vents. I had the hole where the scat tube attaches, but only the back half of the shape. I spent a lot of time trying to fit these before being told they were the old style. You will see a future entry (7/1/17) that shows the final cut out for the vents after I received them from Nick.
