Brief Description:  Reposition Spar Box

Remove Spar Box Bolts and fill holes with flox. With spar box not bolted to fuselage, test fit wings again - several times. The test fits were to get the wings to align with the leading and trailing edge of the wing root. This is the goal of setting the wings. Since the wings attach to the spar box, it must be in the proper position for the wings to be in the proper position. Being new to airplane building we went very slowly as we expanded the edges of the spar holes in the root. This allowed us to reposition the spar box. After several trial fits, the LE and TE of the wings matched both roots.

Using a digital app on the iPad verified that the wings were both set to the same angle of incidence. Time to drill the AOI holes through the wing root into the structural part of the wing end.

The new instalation process is easier than the manual. Just be sure to mark where the structural part of the wing end is so that you can drill through the inside of the fuselage through the center of the structural part.

This entry is a synopsis of several building sessions, some of which are listed in future entries.
