Brief Description:  BW - Elevator

This was my first time painting (priming), so I didn't know exactly what to expect. I noticed that I could not adjust the spray pattern so that it was high and narrow from 12 inches away. What I got was a pattern about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. Also, the paint was not atomized properly. It spit out instead of coming out like a cloud. I wasn't exactly sure what the problem was. Was it the gun, the pressure, or me? To find out what the issue was, I eventually bought a cheap Harbor Freight gun. Long story short, it was the gun, I had borrowed a SATA spray gun that was fine the last time the owner used it, but did not work several years later. Probably worn out seals in the pattern adjust control.

Because I didn't stop when I saw how it was spraying the first (2) time(s), I had to sand everything down. I must admit, all this sanding did give me really flat surfaces.
