Brief Description:  Trim Tab cont.

I have decided to mount the servo directly to the access panel cover plate. This will eliminate the need for screws on top of the elevator and should look a bit cleaner. Who knows, it might even make us fly a little bit faster too (ok, probably not enough to actually measure).

Making the plywood template was easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to install the trim tab control horn when I fabricated the trim tab (remember the florist foam,...). I was pretty sure that I fabricated the control horn, but cannot find it now. It is very similar to the canopy support bracket shape, so I'm not really sure if I made it or not. Bottom line is that I spent about an hour looking for it. Now, I believe I never made it in the first place. Not a big deal, but I wasted a lot of time looking for it and then installing it once I did make it (maybe for the second time). Just to be sure the control horn is secure, I drilled a hole in the part that will be bonded inside the trim tab. This hole will be a channel for the flow to form a little flox bolt and make sure the horn stays put. Bottom line is that I fabed a new control horn, cut out a slot in the trim tab to receive the control horn, epoxied and floxed the control horn into the trim tab and set it aside to cure overnight.
