Brief Description:  Avionics Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting some very frustrating avionics issues.

The pitch servo is showing a network connection problem. Because the elevator is not balanced, it needs the air flow for the auto pilot servo to be strong enough to move it, so initial auto pilot setup is impossible without helping the servo move the elevator manually (which defeats the purpose). What happens is that the servo clutch slips to the point where the AP disconnects. However, helping it move the controls to the stops should be good enough to get it to initialize for flight testing. We'll see.

Also, in the midst of this, the roll servo decides to show a connection error. Terrie and I rewired it (there is only a 16" length of wire on the error indicating pins) and it still shows the same error. Terrie had another servo we connected, and the error went away. When I reconnected my servo, the error was gone too. Yay, but not so fast. After a couple more reboots, the error is back. It still functions, but it shows the error. On my 4th call to Dynon Tech, the support guy (4th one I talked to with this problem) said to ignore the error and that his RV has the same problem.
