After speaking with my avionics mentor Terrie, I decided to replace the serial feed wire from the GTN 650 to the ARINC 429 with a shielded wire. Terrie said it would probably be ok, but she always uses shielded wire on serial lines. So, because I don't want any radio interference,I followed her advice. Unfortunately, I boogered up the connector pin hole when removing the old wire. No worries, I just had to use another one of the serial output pins. I moved this feed from pin 8 to pin 7. I really do not like the high densitity pins that Garmin uses.
Once I replaced the line, I completed the GTN 650, connector backplates
