Mount pitot tube controller to back side of mounting cover and fine tune the opening/cover to fit nicely.
The pitot tube should be horizontal. So, the mounting bracket should be perpendicular to the wing spar. Because the plate is on the front of the underside of the wing which is not horizontal, the bracket needs to lean back. Since the tube and bracket form a 90 degree angle and the wing spars are vertical, the mast of the bracket should be parallel to the spar. I used my digital angle guage and zeroed it on the spar. Then, I set the mast to match.
This forms a pretty good angle under the plate. I'll think on this for a while to decide how to make this rock solid. Nick said they use washers to set the angle. While I'm thinking, I'll move on to something else. The flange needs nutplates.
