Brief Description: Engine Arrived
|
|
Hirth F-33 arrived from Recreational Power Engineering, but not the new engine I was hoping for. The Hirth factory in Germany had closed because of the Coronavirus, and when they reopened in early July, they decided that they would no longer build the 28 HP F-33 with dual iginition. REP communicated this to me, and told me that they had a used F-33 with dual iginition in stock, and that they could configure it to my specs (radial engine mount, drop prop drive for inverted mounting, Etc.), This engine had been run only three hours in taxi tests, but not flown. As this was my only chance for probably one of the few remaining dual iginition F-33s, I ordered it. Three weeks later, it is here. Still waiting for the Challenger factory to open to full production.
