Manual Reference:  Wing Flaps
Brief Description:  Drilling the Upper Flap Skin

No this task didn't really take 3.5 hours (although I did spend 7 hours today working on the airplane) but I wanted to show why I said in an earlier log that I pre-drilled 1 hole in this shim. First, it allowed me to have some control over edge distance - with one hole located I know what the "ED" will be for that hole and since I know the distance between the holes I can control the "longitudinal ED" easily. Image 1 shows the shim with one hole pre-drilled. Image 2 shows the shim pushed in between the skin and the rib. Image 3 shows that I've clecoed the one end of the shim and when I rotate the shim around that cleco until it is flush with the edge of the skin I can be confident that I have good edge distance all around on the last hole.
