Brief Description:  Preparing for the Stall Warning Kit

While I was gone for the 4th of July holidays I ordered a new Stall Warning Switch mounting plate. In trying to adapt the original part (which did not match the supplied drawings) I ended up with unaccpetable edge distances for the MS nutplates I had selected. If you look at Image 1 you can see the old part on the left side and the new part on the right side. Unlike the old part the new mounting plate has provisions for the nutplates that are included in the kit. Image 2 shows the new Switch Mounting Plate approximately located on what will be my new Stall Warning Sensor Bracket. I need to finish with the access hole so I can make the slot the sensor lever will poke through so I can determine whether I will use the pivot features of the lower bracket half or the upper bracket half. After how long it took me to use the hacksaw to rough cut the access hole edge I decided to take a chance with the metal snips. Turned out my concerns of cutting too deep too quickly were unfounded. The Wiss offset snips that I got with my original kit from Avery were easily controlled and maneuvered.
