Brief Description: Preparing the Right Wing Spar Caps
Finished drilling the Left Wing Spar flanges and then moved on to the Right Wing Spar. One of the things I've been doing as I complete each counterbore is test the fit of a piece of aluminum the same thickness as the leading edge skins. I dimpled the piece of aluminum to duplicate the dimple the leading edge skin would have. As shown in image 2, after completing each counterbore I place the skin sample onto the countersink and drop a screw into the hole. I hold the screw from below, pulling down on it to simulate the screw having been torqued and then see if there is any loosness in the sample. I also check to see that the scew head is flush with the skin surface. In image 3, I'm showing the countersink tool installed from the underside of the flange.
