Vans's manual calls for fabricating a tool from 2 x 6 lumber to ensure that the Elevator Trailing Edge is straight and not rounded and Image 1 shows the tool I bult. Spent a while looking for a straight 10 foot long 2 x 6. I cut it into two pieces - one four feet long and one six feet long so that I would have an overhanging edge to use as a handle. But I didn't develop much force with my bare hands so I resorted to 4 large C-Clamps. I gave both the Right and the Left Elevators the same treatment.
