Since I will use flush head rivets to fasten the Landing Light Support hardware to the Leading Edge skin, the skin will be dimpled and the shim in contact with the skin needs to have matching countersinks. Image 1 shows me using a microstop cage to countersink the shim. Image 2 shows that you can always find areas that can use just a litte more filing. Image 3 shows me making a preliminary assessment that I will be able to access the landing light through the opening.
