After carefully looking thorugh my formed landing light lenses I have found that there is a minor optical flaw in the lense and I'm going to fix my lens form so I can make better lenses. I identified a low spot on the form that Image 1 shows coated with wood dough. After letting it dry in the sun for a few hours I was able to sand it using a long straight piece of wood wrapped with sand paper. Image 2 shows the sanded form and the extent of the depression. Image 3 shows me finishing off the edges of one of the new blanks. I'm using Extra Fine 320 grit sandpaper on the edges to remove any gouges that might one day become cracks.
