Brief Description:  Preparing for Landing Lights

Here I am cleaning up the inside edges of landing light frames - two shims and the base frame the landing light lense will fasten to. In image 1 I'm using my Vixson file to smooth the edges left by the pneumatic nibbler and in Image 2 I'm using my half-round file from my smaller file set I bought from Avery Tools. Note that I have two pices of 2x4 clamped to the table with a small gap between them to help me hold the frame while I'm filing it. By now my left thumb is getting tired of holding the frames still while my right hand does the filing. In Image 3 I've replaced the 2x4 that was closest to me with a piece of 1x2 because the 2x4 made it hard to get my drill motor and 1" deburring wheel close to the frame without banging my knuckles on the 2x4.
